Effects of Electronic Devices on Vision in Students Age Group 18-25

Purpose: To increase understanding about the damaging effects of light rays on eyesight. investigate frequency people affected from electronic devices. Study design: Cross sectional study. Place and Duration Study: Riphah International University Lahore duration study was six months June 2020 to December 2020. Materials & Methods: A cross with convenient sampling method conducted at international university The age individuals between 18 years–25 years. Individuals who fulfill inclusion criteria were chosen University. proforma filled regarding detailed history use devices other visual problems associated it. Results: In present 200 students participated has been using this 100 male females. 60% emmetropic, 27.5% myopic, 5.5% hyperopia 7.0% astigmatic. 40% smartphones 11 years-13 years, 20.5% 8 years-11 years 25% 4 years-7 purpose these in 96 smartphone only for social networking. Most them (130) participants laptops. Usage more than hours–6 hours observed 60 members. Among most by lying bed some also cervical flexion position. Conclusion: overall research identified / any used so longer had bad effect vision particularly myopia occurred. This suggests that constant extreme utilization should be avoided.
